Altitude sickness - in remission.

Well, it's been exactly two weeks today since we arrived in Santa Fe,
and I think it's safe to say we are beginning to settle in nicely.

Not too long after we arrived, an "old" familiar face dropped by to say hello -
after driving our car down from Portland that is.
Thanks Diego!
Since we spend so much time at home these days,
we've begun adapting to and adopting some new culinary traditions.
... but of course we still maintain our own unique style.
We've even taken advantage of our little "patch" of land to plant a garden.
The soil we started with was terrible - full of rocks, ancient screws, and earwigs. But with a little elbow grease (and a little liver grease, a.k.a. a six pack of Tecate) we managed to smooth things out a bit.
Lettuce, beets, cabbage, carrots, arugula, and radishes are all in the ground,
and we've got a kale plant in a separate pot just begging for the first frost.
Now all we can do is wait and see what grows. And just in case your wondering,
Henri has really taken to the life of an outdoor cat.
Seriously though,
it has proven difficult at times to keep tabs on that fuzzy little guy.
He particularly enjoys hanging out on the roof and bothering the local crows.
That's all for now. Next time: "Life in the not-so-big city".
